Chapter3:OperatingYourVCR Recording(conL)

[_Important:

Select the channel you would like to recoz'd by using the

CHANNEL buttons on the remote control or the front panel.

If you are using a cable box, select channel 3 or 4 on the VCR,

and change the channel on the cable box. Additionally,, if you

are using an A/B switch, remember to set the switch to the

correct position.

Press the REC/OTR button on the front panel twice. The first

time you press the button, recording will begin. The second

time you press the button, 30 minutes is added to the OTR

timer (which is displayed on the front panel).

Press the REC/OTR button for each 30 minutes you wl3_ntto

add to the OTR timer, up to 4 hours. If you press the button

10 times, you will see the word "End" on _;he front panel

display; the VCR will record until the enci of the tape. If you

press the button an eleventh time, the VCR will resunm

normal recording.

The OTR timer will begin to count down. When it reaches

zero, the VCR will stop recording and turn off. If you have

previously programmed your VCR to recc rd, the VCR 'will be

ready to record what you've programmed.

If you attempt to record on a tape that has h_,d its erasure, pre-

vention tab removed, the VCR will eject the tape and briefly

display an error message on your TV screen.

If you program too much tim(; into the OTR timer, continve

pressing the REC/OTR button. You will "cycl_ _ around once you

have reached the 4-hour point. You can start, over, adding time in

30 minute intervals.

How0TR affects other controls

If you press the PAUSE button during OTR, the VCR will pause

recording, but the OTR timer continues to co'ant down.

If you press STOP during OTR, you erase the OTR programming.

UsingOne Key Programming

One Key Programming is a programming method that is simple

to use and easy to learn, without using the remote control.

Beforeyoubegin:

• you need to know how to view the pict_lre coming from your

VCR; (see page 22) and

• you must have set the clock. (See page 28.)

O Load a tape that has not had its erasm'e tab removed into the

VCR. If you have not yet recorded on thi_; tape, the VCR will

test the tape with the Pel-fecTape feature:. (See page 48.)
